  1. Hey Michael. I picked up your idioms book a few weeks ago – I’m really enjoying it! I’m about to finish Sogang Level 5, and I recently passed TOPIK Level 4. I am interested in the translation field (Korean to English) and I was wondering if you had any advice about how to get started? Thanks for all your great work!

    1. Hey, Bryan.
Thanks for the support! If you add me as a friend on Facebook, we can continue this discussion in more detail. I don’t know if I would recommend work as a translator, though. The pay is terrible, the deadlines always too near and it’s a constant battle to be appreciated as a foreigner who speaks Korean. As a native English speaker, you’d think your skills would be in demand, but the truth is that it’s next to impossible to convince Koreans that you can speak Korean well. You may have already experienced this. At the end of the day, the pay will be peanuts and you will most likely have a boss who thinks his or her English is better than yours and tries to correct your work all the time. Other than that, it’s a wonderful line of work!

Thanks for stopping by the site.

  4. hi, Michael

do you have any plan for sale your book Amazon(.com)?
It would be great for people who live around here ^^

    1. Hi! ^^
Of course, I’d love it if Amazon carried my book. Unfortunately, I don’t have any influence over what they decided to carry. I really hope that they decide to offer the dictionary.

      1. I just found out that the book is available at the Seoul Selection bookstore. They ship to the US!
