This topic is your life’s goal. I’m referring to what you want to accomplish most in your life. For some people it may simply be being happy and starting a family. For others, it may be being rich and powerful. A specific goal, such as working at Samsung Electronics etc. is fine too. Your answer could also be someone that you hope to be like. For example, if your dream is to be a diplomat, you may want to be like Ban Ki-moon etc.

Useful Vocabulary

성공하다 to succeed
성공한 사람 a successful person
부자가 되다 to become a rich person, to grow wealthy
실천하다 to carry out, put into practice
목표 a goal
목적 a purpose
장래 희망 hopes for the future
진로 a path (in life)
실패하다 to fail
꿈을 실현 시키다to make a dream come true
운명/인연 fate / destiny

~ 가능성이 낮다 to be unlikely
ex. It’s unlikely that I’ll become president of the U.S., but it is still my dream.

~만으로 만족하다 to be satisfied with just ~
ex. I don’t need to be rich, I would be satisfied with just having a carefree, calm life.

~ 하기로 결심하다 to be determined to do ~
ex. When I was only six years old, I determined that I was meant to be a musician.

Don’t forget that you need the verb “be” or “become” in sentences about your future plans.

ex. 내 꿈은 의사예요
My dream is to become a doctor.
