Hi, my name’s Michael.
What’s yours?
Hi, I’m Michael.
What’s your name?

(Avoid “I am Jaehong”)
(Don’t use “I’m Michael” on the phone or in text messages.)

My name’s Jaehong, but I go by “Jae” in America.
My name’s Jaehong, but you can call me “Jae.”

(Don’t overuse “But you can just call me ~”. Sounds like “Let’s lose the formality”)

(Avoid: “Where did you go?”)

Have you (ever) been to ~
Have you ever been to Gyeongbokgung?
Have you ever heard of ~?
Have you ever heard of Pansori?

(Avoid: “Do you know ~” when referring to inanimate objects)
